SHEHERAZAD MEDIA INTERNATIONAL PROFILE

After working at Farabi Cinema from 1982 and then co-founding Cima Media International, to further promote television programs and feature films as well as some extraordinary Iranian directors to the world, (Mrs.) Katayoon Shahabi launched her own Company, Sheherazad Media International (SMI) on 2001.
She started to have experience in co-production in Cima Media International by producing with BBC a documentary and NHK a movie. In her country she worked as producer actively in these recent years.
In a short time, SMI has gained a reputation for a keen eye, integrity and hard work.
Her ultimate goal is to be the region's primary distributor of quality films not-only Iranian but also Middle Eastern and Asian-and to create projects that introduce promising new directors and intriguing films to the world.
