SYNOPSIS:

Akbar has been held in a rehabilitation centre for committing murder at the age of sixteen when he was sentenced to death. Legally speaking, he had to reach the age of eighteen so that the sentence could be carried out. Now, the day after his 18th birthday Akbar is transferred to prison to await the day of his execution. Akbar’s sister and his friend,Ala are his only hope to convince his plaintiff to stop the execution…

BIOGRAPHY:  

Born in 1972, Asghar Farhadi is a graduate of Theatre from Tehran University (BA) and Tarbiat Modarres (MA).He made several 8mm and 16mm for “Iranian Young Cinema Society”.
Consequently, he wrote plays and screenplays for Iranian television and also directed many popular TV series including “A TALE OF A CITY”. DANCING IN THE DUST his first feature film received many prizes in national film festival (Fajr) and was successful in many international film festivals, too. BEAUTIFUL CITY is his second film.
